Hawk-Woods Reel-Power batteries offer great service life employing four contacts to carry the power, unlike many 14v systems that rely simply on two which are prone to reliability issues. RP batteries are suitable for both 24v cameras and lighting up to 10Amps= 250Watts! Tested and approved (as used by ARRI rentals for 5 years)
The new addition RP-350N supports the longest run-time from any single on board battery providing over 180min of run time.WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE
26V REEL-POWER?
There are plenty of good reasons as to why you should opt for a 26v battery system for ARRI cameras; especially their latest ARRI LF camera. Reel Power is the perfect choice for native 24v cinematic cameras such as ARRI Alexa, Amira, Mini, and high-speed cameras such as the Phantom 4k. Hawk-Woods have been supporting ARRI with Reel Power onboard 26v batteries for over 5 years, so this is a proven solution which has been used across their existing cameras such as the ALEXA 65.

Using a 14v system, you would need two batteries on an adaptor to provide any power to the camera, due to the LF's minimum voltage requirement of 19.5v, this is adding extra weight without including a dual battery plate AKA T-Plate or Shark Fin. With a 26v system, there is a single direct fitting
which mounts to the LF and works across existing ALEXA cameras keeping this system as universal as possible. The adaptor offers two 3 pin Fischer connectors which can power further accessories direct off the batteries nominal voltage. Benefits of using 26v over 14v, when you have a higher voltage you are demanding less current from the battery. So, does this mean the 26v battery will run the camera for longer if the batteries were the same capacity? Short answer; No. However,
over a period the 26v battery would outrun any 14v battery (which started off at the same capacity) as the 14v battery has had to work a lot harder to power the camera, so cell deteriation would take place. So essentially your 26v Reel Power batteries are going to last you a lot longer.
DO I NEED SPECIAL
POWER ADAPTORS & FITTINGS?
Reel Power batteries do require the Reel Power LF Direct camera fitting RP-CFA1 in order to be used with the ALEXA cameras, which are supplied as a fitting with the new ALEXA LF Camera. The batteries are not cross compatible with V-Mount fittings this is due to the higher voltage that the Reel Power batteries provide. We manufacturer a wide range of power adaptors to be used in conjunction with our 26V batteries, please see below for a few featured products however we encourage your to browse the Reel-Power section using the link below;
